Sampletoy is an innovative and versatile musical instrument/plaything that combines the functions of a sampler and a granular synthesizer. With Sampletoy, users can capture sounds through the microphone and manipulate them in real-time on the screen by playing, looping, pitching, and distorting.

Under the surface, Sampletoy boasts a wide range of features including resonant filters, delays, and envelope controls. Users have the option to switch between "stepped" mode for traditional keyboard playing or "free" mode for exploring microtonal possibilities.

Once a sound is recorded, it can be played back at various pitches using the main area of the screen. Users can also crop the sound by selecting a specific portion of the waveform. The crop area is multitouch enabled, allowing adjustments to be made while playing the sound.

The y-axis controls the pitch of the sound, while the x-axis can be configured to manipulate filters or envelope settings.

Sampletoy also offers the convenience of recording performances within the app and sending them via email as CD-quality wav files, both in mono and stereo formats. FEATURES
